As summer comes to a close, stores worldwide are rolling out their latest in fashion trends for the fall season. Every year, shoppers trade light and airy summer pieces for thick and cozy fashion that is perfect for the cooling temperatures. All the rage this fall includes clothing in darker hues, a cute pair of booties, caramel leather accessories, and comfy knit pieces.

Darker Hues

After labor day, white and pastels are out and moody, darker color ways are back in. The biggest color for fall is a deep burgundy color called Oxblood and it is certain to be seen on runways and store shelves worldwide. 4 Tips for the Perfect Braid

Braids have made a big comeback over the last few years. Where once upon a time they were associated with cowgirls or elementary school aged girls, now you would be hard pressed to find a red carpet event without at least one A-list celebrity who isn’t wearing a braided hair style. Most anyone can master the classic three piece braid but there are a few tricks can be utilized to take your braid to the next level.

 

Try A New Style of Braid

 

 
There are dozens of styles of braids with tutorials online in written or video form, so if you’re feeling bored with the classic three piece braid, try a new style. It’s amazing how changing the style of the braid can transform the entire vibe of your look. Keeping Hair Healthy All Summer Long

The summer comes with the good, the bad and the ugly. It is a time of fun times, and great weather; however, the bright sun comes with some consequences. Skin care is often propelled during the warmer seasons however skin is not the only potential victim to hot weather and summertime events.  Protect your hair and keep those strands healthy this summer by using the following tips for good hair and good vibes.

 

Use Sun Blocking Products

If sunscreen for the skin protects it from harmful rays, why not use it on hair?  Both skin and hair can be damaged by an excessive amount of sun.  The sun can cause hair to be dry and brittle and also result in split ends, thinning and discoloration.  Use products that will protect your hair from this potential damage.

Though sunscreen for the hair and scalp are not as plentiful as skin sunscreen, products do exist.  If you are unable to find one on the market, DIY your way to sun guarded hair. Add a few drops of grapeseed oil and jojoba oil to rose water in an empty spray bottle. Shake well to diffuse the oils with the water and store in the refrigerator. Shake before using, and spray on hair before leaving out to enjoy a day of fun in the sun.

Swimming is possibly the most popular summer activity. Not only is it fun, it’s also a great way to stay physically fit. If you plan on swimming in a pool that has been treated with chlorine, you will need to take extra steps to prevent chemical damage to your hair.  Chlorine, which is used to keep water clear of bacteria, can have adverse effects on hair follicles. Breakage, thinning and even discoloration can occur, especially on color treated hair. You do not have to skip out on aquatic activities to avoid this damage, simply protect your hair before hitting the pool.

An easy way to protect hair from chlorine is by wearing a swim cap. A swim cap is a specially created piece of headgear that allows the wearer to guard their hair from the water. They may not be the most attractive accessory you own, but they will do wondres in preventing adverse affects on hair from chlorine. If a swim cap is not for you, invest in a chlorine blocking product. There are many creams, sprays and serums that will get the job done. Coating the hair with coconut oil before a dip in the pool is also beneficial to preventing chlorine damage.

Although not ideal, there will be times where letting your hair down and soaking up some sun will involve both heat and chemical exposure.
